In some spring,that seabird
and this bird from the plains
got attached,without ever
facing each other.
Exchanging tweets n chirps
nourished so many joys
hiding under their wings.
That one is bothered to fly,
fighting the tides,
This one is flying back home
picking feeds from here and there
under the watchful eyes wide open.
So many Autumns and Winters
Springs and Summers
Flew away by the fluttering of feathers.
Felling off the dry leaves,
green leaves shot up,
Then nibbling the sprig, spitting the tart,
These two fine tuned their song.
When the sun sets there
dawn covers all here,
In the intolerable silence
Memories beat their notes.
That sea and this plain
get drenched in the music.
Sitting on the branched twigs
of a divided road,
These two birds that never met,
touch each other through the song.
Holding the springs in their arms
They regenerate.

ಆ ಎರಡು ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳು
ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು ವಸಂತದಲ್ಲಿ
ಆ ಕಡಲ ಹಕ್ಕಿ,ಈ ಬಯಲ ಹಕ್ಕಿ
ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗದೇ ಬೆಸೆದುಕೊಂಡು
ಅದರ ಸ್ವರ ಇದಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು,ಇದರ ಸ್ವರ
ಅದಕೆ ತೆತ್ತು
ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಸಂತಸಗಳನ್ನು ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಪೊರೆದವು
ತೆರೆ ಉಬ್ಬರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಏಗುತ್ತಾ
ಹಾರುವ ಅದರ ಗೊಡವೆ ಅದಕೆ
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಟುಕು ಹೆಕ್ಕಿ ಇಷ್ಟಗಲ
ಕಣ್ಗಾವಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಸಿ ಗೂಡು ಸೇರುವ
ದಾವಂತ ಇದಕೆ
ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಚೈತ್ರ, ಗ್ರೀಷ್ಮ,ಶಿಶಿರ, ಹೇಮಂತಗಳು
ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಸಿಗೆ ಹಾರಿ ಹೋದವು
ಒಣ ಎಲೆ ಉದುರಿ ಹಸಿರು ಮುಕ್ಕಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವು
ಆಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚಿಗುರು ಕುಕ್ಕಿ,ಒಗರು ಕಕ್ಕಿ
ಇವುಗಳು ದ್ವನಿ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವು
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಕಂತುವ ಹೊತ್ತಲ್ಲಿ
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಯಲಿಗೆ ಮಂಕು ಕವಿಯುತ್ತದೆ
ಅಸಹನೀಯ ನೀರವತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ
ನೆನಪುಗಳು ವೀಣೆ ಮೀಟತೊಡಗುತ್ತವೆ
ಆ ಕಡಲು ಈ ಬಯಲು ನಾದದಲ್ಲಿ
ನೆನೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ
ಟಿಸಿಲೊಡೆದ ಹಾದಿಯ ಕವಲು
ಕೊಂಬೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತ
ಎಂದೂ ಸಂಧಿಸದ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳೆರಡೂ
ಹಾಡಿನ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ
ವಸಂತಗಳ ಬಗಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು
ಮರುಜನ್ಮ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ.
ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಬರಹಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ
ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು
ಇದು ಅದಲ್ಲ
